I am sure you have read Gerards ReMIN.D.ers blog
of last week. Finally we could all meet again in Switzerland to shoot pictures and videos of stuff we wanted to do for a long time.
You have probably seen in our social media channels pictures of my MIN.D. prototype. Now, finally I can tell you a bit more about the story of that bike in a video and by sharing quality pictures.
Having a new frame in my hands reminds me always when I had the first OPEN frame ever - the legendary 1.0 - arriving in my apartment (we did not have an office, I was working from home) 9 years ago.
You have worked on a model for many years....for the MIN.D. in fact almost 4 years and then there is this magic moment when you have the chance to ride it for the first time...
It is true that I pushed Gerard to make this model. One reason as he mentioned was that I wanted a new road bike instead of having to swap wheels on my gravel bike all the time, the other (at the time) was quite simply a commercial one. I thought the risk of living only from one model (back then 90% of the sales came from the U.P.) was too big.
It is also true that during the 4 years we worked on the MIN.D., I lost a bit interest in the road model, as I only thought about gravel and the U.P. or U.P.P.E.R was already a pretty good road bike in the correct set up. And of course the WI.DE. also made us less dependent on the U.P. model.
But hey, after I changed my mind once before with the ONE +
, I did it again. Now that the MIN.D. is ready, I love the ride. Fast, nimble and the 32mm tires still give me the chance to take gravel shortcuts and to get lost. And no, it's not a gravel bike but yes, you can do easy gravel with it also.
More about the specifications and detail pictures in the next blog, now enjoy the video of the bike that changed my MIN.D. again...
