The WI.DE. complete bike is back!
Gerard Vroomen - 10-Sep-2020
Last Fall we did a batch of WI.DE. bikes with Force/Eagle AXS drivetrain and they sold out quickly. So by popular demand, it's back this month.
The basics remain the same:
- The drivetrain is a Force/Eagle AXS combo. Light, reliable, 12-speed, electronic, what's not to like? The maximum range with a 10-50 cassette is perfect for all the crazy trails you can take the WIDE onto, and the Force parts are very close to their Red siblings and a fair chunk less expensive. Some of you may know that I actually prefer a slightly tighter range (SRAM 11-50 or the ROTOR 11-46 cassette). But since you will replace the cassette eventually anyway (and if you love the WIDE as much as we do, you'll rake up the miles quickly), you can always adjust down the line.
- For the wheels, We went with DT Swiss again but more importantly, we will now offer both 700c (29") and 650b (27.5") options.
- Stem, handlebar and seatpost all come from Easton. Nice parts, reasonably priced and not unimportant, the grey graphics match the frame perfectly. Standard road drop, just the way Andy likes it (and you know, he gets to choose).
- Then maybe the most important part: tires! Lots of options here, but now that Schwalbe has good availability of the new range of Schwalbe G-One Allround tires, it was a pretty easy choice for us. The 700c wheels get the 700x45c version, while the 650b gets the 27.5x2.25" treads.
So here are the two versions. 700c (29"):
And 650b (27.5"):
Some more info from Andy:
We like it and hope you do too. If you're interested, don't wait too long as last year we had to disappoint quite a few people. If you order now
, the bike will ship within two weeks.
