BOTM: My U.P.-GRADE - part 2
Andy Kessler - 23-Sep-2016
Sorry for taking so much time to make the second part of “my U.P.-Grade blog
". But with Eurobike at Interbike things have been very very busy. In fact I am writing that blog waiting for another flight but this time back to Switzerland.
So as mentioned in the short video in last weeks blog I made a Swiss army pocket knife U.P. It can do anything from a commuter to work (I ride approx. 9000km a year only commuting) to easy Mountainbike rides. The later is also the reason why I have equipped it with the Lauf fork
for some more comfort and less fatigue for longer rides. The interesting thing about the Lauf is that it does not help much on the big shocks but it filters quiet a bit of the small ones.
I want that almost nothing can stop me while I am exploring. For me riding the UP is “getting lost” in a controlled way. I hit a lot of trails that I have never ridden before. With the Mountainbike or with my Road Bike I always plan ahead. With the U.P. I decide on the first crossing if I go left or right… After or before a very busy and over-scheduled work day that's a perfect inspiration. It gives me the feeling that I am free… ok at least for some time.
Here are some pictures of the details of my U.P. for more inspiration. In next weeks blog more about the detail specifications.
