Hey Andy, Tires pictured here are ont Schwalbe G-one but Compass/René herse Barlow Pass 700cx38 extra light tires.

Actually they are 700cx44 Snoqualmie Pass René herse tires !

Stunning bike, and the Compass tires suit it really well.

I have a question about the bike and I'm not sure where the best place to ask it is. It looks like the WIDE has a slacker head tube angle than the UP by a degree, making it the same as my current gravel bike, a GT Grade. The trail looks 5mm or so longer on the Grade for the same tires. I love the Grade to pieces, but the handling feels a bit slow compared to my "real" road bike, and when I get a new gravel bike I do want it to feel more lively. How does handling feel between the UP and the WIDE? The UP seems like the perfect bike but for my personal setup the WIDE is better suited (less utility overlap with my road bike, and fender mounts). But maybe the WIDE has the best handling for its application?

Hi JC, feel is subjective, but the best way I can describe it is that an UP with 28mm road tires feels quite similar to a WIDE with 35mm road tires. And similarly for other tires sizes. So the feel is designed to be similar for both bikes, once the WIDE is fitted with slightly bigger tires. Does this apply 100%? No, of course there are many factors, including tire weight, casing stiffness, etc, etc, etc that all factor into the feel, and that we try to correct for in the geometry. So the UP will always feel a little quicker than the WIDE, but it's not as big a difference as you would expect.
