Our intro video
did raise a couple of questions I will try to answer most of them:
Complete specifications: Sorry you have to wait for part 3... same procedure as every blog...
Gear ratio: is a 33-33 =1:1 gear ratio enough ? Of course that depends a lot where your home is. As mentioned in the video this is for me a road bike for off-road use and not a pure off-road bike. So yes it is good for something up to a 15% grade climb if you are fit and the climb is not super long. But if you want to do steeper things or really use it as a real gravel/bike packing bike no, its not enough at least for me living in Switzerland.
Clearance on other OPEN models (UPPER/Classic UP) with new SRAM AXS front derailleurs. Thats exactly the same as on this model.
Fixture of fenders and racks. When we developed the Classic UP/UPPER/NEW UP we had to make a choice. As we think this are not models you want to use for heavy bike packing with 20kg/40 pound loads we decided not to have any rack mounts and keep the look clean and simple and use frame- saddle- and handlebar bags for bike packing.
Same for fender mounts we wanted to make 95% of the people happy by leaving them away and keep the look clean. I am personally a fan of removable fenders such as the ass-savers
. But we are also thinking about a clever system for the future that combines clean look and real fender options.
Here comes the beauty shot gallery.
